Moteo Ridge Ltd is the trading name of the grape growing and viticultural contracting business operating from Moteo Terrace Vineyard, Puketapu.

We are first and foremost – grape growers. Contracted to one of the big 4 wineries for all our fruit. Lucky enough (with the winemakers skill) to have had our fruit used in making wines that have won several Blue Gold and Gold Medals. The most recent in Auckland in September 2008 and again for the same wine variety in 2009. We recognized very soon in our business venture that to survive as contract growers, we had to control costs – and that means controlling labour costs. So, we invested heavily in mechanization to reduce the overall dependence on a 'random' contract labour force.
